BLOG: Thanks to Federal Way Police, governor signs bill to help police across the state 4/26/2009
Senate Bill 5413 addresses the growing use of look-alike guns used to threaten police officers. Police Chief Brian Wilson brought this issue to my attention after there was an incident in Federal Way. A suspect pulled an air soft pistol from his waistband and pointed it at an officer. When the case got to the prosecutor's office, it became apparent that there was no charge to fit the facts.

NEWS: Eide bill for fake threats on cops passes House; on to governor for signature 4/8/2009
Criminals who pretend they have a weapon to police are one step away from ending up in jail for an additional year under legislation sponsored by Sen. Tracey J. Eide, D-Federal Way.
The bill, supported by Eide's local police department, passed the state House today and now takes the final step to the governor's desk for signature.

NEWS: Senate proposes additional $325,000 for Federal Way performing arts center 4/2/2009
The state Senate capital construction budget proposal released this week includes $325,000 for further development of a performing arts center in Federal Way.
“In these tough times, there is much less for construction projects, so the performing arts center being included in the proposal really means something. This is a priority,” said Sen. Tracey Eide, D-Federal Way.
Federal Way triangle work gets $109 million in Senate roads budget 3/25/2009
OLYMPIA – Major improvements to where Interstate 5 and State Routes 161 and 18 connect in Federal Way got a nod today in the state Senate transportation budget.
