Sens. Eide and Ranker statement: “This is a wake-up call” 5/24/2013
Sen. Tracey Eide, D-Federal Way and co-chair of the Senate Transportation Committee and Sen. Kevin Ranker, D-Orcas Island, issued the following statement regarding yesterday's collapse of the I-5 bridge:
"Thanks to our incredibly impressive state troopers, local firefighters, sheriff deputies and U.S. Border Patrol agents, we are very fortunate there were no fatalities last night. First and foremost, we all must be safe and feel safe when driving on our bridges, roads and highways, and we are grateful for efforts of our first responders in preventing serious injury or loss of life.

Tracey Eide, D-Federal Way, co-chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, issued the following statement regarding the $8.7 billion 2013-15 transportation budget passed unanimously today by the Senate. The action came just one day after Senate Bill 5024 was passed out of the Transportation Committee unanimously.
