Senate dips toes in sick leave pool
OLYMPIA – State employees may soon have another option
when struck with a catastrophic illness.
Senate Bill 6059, approved unanimously today by the
Senate, would allow each state department or agency to establish a
voluntary sick leave pool for participating employees who have used
all of their sick, vacation or compensatory time. Time in the sick
leave pool may only be used for the employee's personal illness,
accident or injury.
